Summer has flown by in Sheraton Park, but we’ve been busy here at Ustinov College.
We were thrilled to welcome an Alumni Development Intern to our team over the summer period, who has been helping us reflect on our alumni engagement and look at ways to further develop what we can offer to our alumni community. We’re now seeking Ustinov alumni, from any year to join a virtual focus group that will let us know what you want to see from us going forwards! Whether it’s alumni dinners, reunions, seminars, or stash, we want to make sure you stay connected and feel your ideas have been heard. If you’re interested in joining us, please email [email protected]; we would be delighted to hear from you. Attendees will receive a limited-edition Ustinov College Alumni travel mug while supplies last—so don’t delay, get in touch today!
Following the extremely positive response to the Castle Formal last Spring, the GCR hosted a second formal at the Castle in August. Ustinovians gathered together in the Great Hall and celebrated the warmth and long days of summer while enjoying a well-deserved break from their dissertations!
Ustinov College’s SCR relaunched their activities with a joint GCR-SCR trip to Alnwick Gardens, a beautiful and quirky venue in Northumberland. Attendees visited the famous Poison Garden (which features only poisonous plants) and were able to see the Rose Gardens in full bloom.
Speaking of which, the latest edition of The Ustinovian is also in full bloom! This summer issue features the theme of ‘Hope’ and is dotted throughout with flowers. Can you spot them all? You can read the latest copy here: The Ustinovian Summer 2022 Edition
Our GCP SUCCESS team hosted a very successful seminar presented by Prof Eishu Kosuge, Principal of Teikyo University, entitled ‘The Stock Market and the Japanese Economy’. During this well-attended event, participants not only learned about the Japanese economy, but also received some useful tips from this esteemed expert in the financial world.
As always, our alumni are welcome to attend virtual events. If you would like to learn more, please email [email protected] and we can let you know about upcoming events that might be of interest.
As the new term approaches, we are excited to welcome a new cohort of Ustinovians to the College. We can’t wait to see what the 2022-2023 academic year brings—and we’ll be sure to keep you updated!
