Open Days and Visits
Pre-application open days
Open Days provide talks and tours for the Department of Engineering, with the talk session giving you an insight into the subject, how it is taught at Durham and why you should study at Durham. The tours will show you some of our facilities and give you an opportunity to see demonstrations of students' work. We would encourage you to sign up for both a talk session and a tour.

Post-application open days
Students holding Durham offers will be invited to open days which take place in February and March each year. These open days will provide you with the opportunity to stay overnight in a college (March days only) and to come into the Department to learn more about the degree programmes.

Alternatives to Open Days
The best way to see the Department is via the open days but if you cannot attend these open days for any reason, please contact us at [email protected]. There are a number of dates when it is possible to attend a Campus Tour and a good approach is to book on a campus tour and arrange to visit the Department for the same day.

Department of Engineering Virtual Tour
In the Department of Engineering at Durham University, we appreciate that not everyone can physically visit us prior to applying to and/or joining one of our courses. We therefore encourage you to take advantage of our self-guided virtual tour below, where you can digitally take yourself around the Department and see some of the facilities that you would be using as a student on our courses.
Did you know the department is now on Instagram? Please follow us @duengineering we will be posting all things Engineering and also things happening across the University community.
