Rise is an initiative of Schmidt Futures and the Rhodes Trust that finds promising young people and provides them with opportunities that allow them to work together to serve others over their lifetimes.
The program starts at ages 15 to 17 and encourages a lifetime of service and learning by providing support that may include need-based scholarships, mentorship, networking, access to career development opportunities, and the potential for additional funding as Rise Global Winners work to develop bold ideas for public benefit.
Durham University is a proud partner of the Foundation and will part-fund the tuition of Rise Global Winners pursuing undergraduate degrees at Durham in 2024.
Winners can also receive funding towards:
Applicants for programmes commencing in 2025
If you are a Rise Global Winner you will need to submit an online undergraduate application directly through UCAS to apply to Durham University.
For the best chance of receiving an offer, you’ll need to apply by 18:00 (GMT) on 31 January 2025. Your school or college may have their own deadline for you to apply so they have enough time to write your reference, so you’ll need to bear this in mind.

Everyone who applies joins a global community of leaders and gains access to opportunities from their partners around the world. Find out more about the benefits here.
