Chevening Scholarships are the UK government's fully funded global scholarship programme, sponsored by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at universities in the UK. Durham University is proud to partner with Chevening in 2025/26.
In addition to the Open Awards, the university has 10 Partnership Awards open to applicants from all Chevening-eligible countries.
All scholarships are of equal value and follow the same application process. Applicants should apply through their country page on the Chevening website.
I feel greatly honoured to be awarded the Chevening Scholarship and to study International Relations at Durham University, one of the most prestigious universities in the UK. It's an invaluable opportunity for me to develop my professional and academic skills, which will no doubt benefit my career as a journalist in the future.
Open & Partnership Awards: Applicants must be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country, and intend to return there for a minimum of two years after your Chevening Award has finished.
